How we handle your information at about us. In plain language, because you deserve to know exactly what happens with it.

The short version
We collect the few things we need to run the brand (mostly your email, and your order details if you buy a hat), we use them only to do what you'd expect, and we never sell your information to anyone. That's the whole idea. The sections below spell out the details.
What we collect
Your email address, when you join the list so we can tell you about the drop.
Your order details (name, shipping address, email, and phone number) if and when you buy a hat. These are collected securely through Square at checkout.
Your payment information, which is handled entirely by Square. We never see or store your full card number.
Basic site usage, through Google Analytics. This includes things like the pages you visit, your general location, and your device or browser type, collected using cookies.
How we use it
Your email is used to let you know when the hat is available and to share the occasional update about about us. Nothing more, and never a flood.
Your order details are used to process, ship, and support your order, and to keep the records we're required to keep (like for taxes).
Site usage helps us understand how people find and use the site so we can make it better.
Who we share it with
We share your information only with the services that help us run the brand: Netlify (which hosts this site and the signup form), Square (which handles payments and orders), Google Analytics (which measures site traffic), and shipping carriers like USPS (to actually deliver your hat).
We do not sell your personal information, and we never will. We also don't share it for anyone else's advertising.
Cookies and analytics
Google Analytics uses cookies to measure how the site is used. If you'd rather not be counted, you can block or clear cookies in your browser settings, or install Google's official opt-out browser add-on.
Your email, your call
You can leave the list anytime. Every email we send includes an unsubscribe link, or you can just reply and ask. We'll remove you promptly and honor the request.
Your rights
You can ask us what information we have about you, correct it, or have it deleted, at any time. Just email hello@aboutus.club and we'll take care of it.
If you live in California, state law (the CCPA and CPRA) gives you the right to know what personal information we collect, to request that we delete it, and to opt out of the sale of personal information. Since we don't sell personal information, there's nothing to opt out of, but your other rights apply. Email us to use any of them.
How long we keep it
We keep your information only as long as it's useful for the purposes above. Your email stays on the list until you ask to be removed, and order records are kept as long as we need them for support and tax purposes. You can ask us to delete your information anytime.
Children
about us. isn't directed to children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect information from them.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the brand grows. When we do, we'll change the "last updated" date at the top, and we'll note anything significant right here on this page.
